Peace Action Ōtautahi is a grassroots group of Christchurch residents committed to ending the genocide in Gaza, confronting New Zealand's complicity, and demilitarisation and education for peace.
We're a community of volunteers in Ōtautahi Christchurch who believe weapons and militarisation make us less safe, not more. We organise locally and connect with the wider Aotearoa and international movement for Palestinian liberation, campaigning against the genocide in Gaza and New Zealand's direct and indirect support for it — including trade, diplomatic, and military ties.
At the heart of our work is peaceful direct action to oppose NZ arms and aerospace companies' collaboration with the American military industrial complex and the Israeli genocide in Gaza. Our work spans public campaigns, street protests and vigils, educational events, and direct advocacy to decision-makers — always peaceful, always grounded in the belief that ordinary people, organised together, can change what their country stands for.
