On the 7th and 8th of April, Peace Action Ōtautahi and our supporters will be returning to protest outside of NIOA headquarters.
It’s a rather unassuming warehouse, discreetly tucked away in Rolleston’s sprawling industrial park. But this veil of normalcy cannot conceal NIOA’s heinous transgressions.
A prolific manufacturer and distributor of firearms and ammo, NIOA directly supplies many of the world’s most brutal militaries. Their ‘products’ are used to commit countless atrocities, from the genocide in Palestine to the Indonesian occupation of West Papua. And as Israel and the United States escalate their imperial aggression across West Asia, war profiteers like NIOA continue lining their pockets. For them, it’s simply business as usual. More death and destruction means more revenue, and there’s nothing more important than the bottom line to these corporate suits.
Even after almost three years of televised slaughter in Palestine, the New Zealand Government remains eager to partner with the engineers of genocide. NIOA has hefty contracts with both the NZ Defense Force and Police – it’s clear that there are no moral reservations about the murder of civilians. But the people of Ōtautahi have no interest in harbouring war criminals. We’ll continue fighting back by any means necessary to drive these parasites out of our country.
Join our protests this Tuesday and Wednesday, as we make it clear that NIOA has no place in Aotearoa. The empire is crumbling, and the architects of war will not be spared.
